Nourish AI uses Anthropic's Claude AI to power its natural language food logging, calorie estimation, meal idea generation, and food photo analysis features. When you:
All AI requests are routed through our secure Cloudflare proxy server. Your full health profile is never sent to Anthropic — only the minimum information needed to answer your query. Anthropic's privacy policy is available at anthropic.com/privacy.

When you scan a product barcode, the barcode number is sent to the following free public databases to retrieve product and nutrition information:
No personal information is included in barcode lookup requests. The barcode number itself is not linked to your account.

If you use the Snap Food feature, the app will request access to your camera. Photos are only used to identify food and estimate calories — they are sent directly to Anthropic's Claude AI and are not stored on our servers or shared with any other party. You can revoke camera access at any time in your iPhone Settings.
Your health data, calorie logs, quick add entries, and app settings are stored locally on your device using iOS secure storage. Your account credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain. Analytics data is stored by PostHog on their servers. Disclaimer acceptance is stored locally on your device only.
We retain your personal information for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, your data stored on your device will be removed. To request deletion of your analytics data held by PostHog, contact us at the email below.

Nourish AI is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
If you enable notifications, we will send meal logging reminders and weight check-in reminders at times you specify. You can disable notifications at any time in your iPhone Settings.
We implement appropriate technical measures to protect your information, including iOS Keychain for credential storage, encrypted API communication via HTTPS, and a secure Cloudflare proxy to protect our API credentials. Food photos are transmitted over encrypted connections and are not stored after processing.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the date at the top of this page.

Calorie and nutrition estimates are generated by artificial intelligence and may not be accurate for every food, portion, or individual. Use them as a general guide, not an exact measurement. Results can vary based on preparation, brand, and serving size.
When you first use the app, you will be asked to acknowledge this disclaimer. Your acceptance is recorded locally on your device along with the date, app version, and disclaimer version number.
